With technology today, you can keep up with all of your favorite MLB teams via the internet. If you're willing and able, you can watch, listen, or watch and listen to any game LIVE. Unfortunately, it isn't free but if you've got fifteen bucks, it's worth having access to over 2,000 games. Here are some instructions:

Watch

  1. Type in http://sports.yahoo.com into your browser's address bar or click the link.
  2. On the left side of the screen, there is a column with the header 'Today.' Click here for an image guide to help you. There are a few ways to get started. Here are two.
    1. Click 'GameChannel' which is under the 'Today' header.
      1. Clicking 'GameChannel' will open another window. You cannot close this window. In a few seconds, the GameChannel window will pop up. You will see a scoreboard with all of the major league games being played that day. Click here for an image guide to help you. You can select any of the games that are currently in progress. The games that you can view are outlined in red in the image guide. The games outlined in blue cannot be selected because they have not started.
      2. Click on the game of your choice.
      3. After your game loads, you can click on any of the tabs located at the top of the window (Matchup, Lineup, etc.) to view information on the game you are watching. Click here for an image of an game that is still loading and click here for a game that has finished loading.
    2. Find your game listed under the 'Today' header and click the inning. Click here for an image guide to help you.
      1. Clicking the inning of your game will open another window. You cannot close this window. In a few seconds, the GameChannel window will pop up.
      2. After your game loads, you can click on any of the tabs located at the top of the window (Matchup, Lineup, etc.) to view information on the game you are watching.
Listen

  1. Type in http://www.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/audio/mlb_gameday_audio.jsp into your browser's address bar, or click the link.
  2. Either subscribe or login.
  3. After you have completed your registration or logged in, it is easier to close the Game Day Audio window that automatically launched.
  4. Return to the MLB Game Day Audio main page and scroll down to find the game of your choice. If it is available, click one of the links listed under the 'Broadcast' column.
  5. Your Game Day Audio window will pop up (you may be prompted to log in again). After it connects and buffers, the broadcast will begin.
Watch and Listen

Follow the instructions for both watching and listening to a game.

Tidbits

  • The $14.95 is an excellent price to have access to any and every game LIVE. Yes, it used to be free, but it's only fifteen bucks.
  • You should check the requirements of both GameChannel and Game Day Audio.
  • There is a delay in the Game Day Audio broadcast so if you're watching and listening, you may sometimes see the plays before you hear them. I've found that it only happens in the beginning. After a few minutes, they match up.
  • If you're watching the game without audio, sometimes you'll notice that nothing happens for a while. This usually means that someone scored.
  • Be sure to visit the sponsor when you're watching the game to keep GameChannel free.
